White Board Drill with Absolute Value
 

Dig out the student white boards and practice the concept of absolute value.

1.  Draw a picture representing | -4 | graphically.

3.  Simplify:   | (-4 - 5) | + | -12 |

4.  If x is a signed number, find the solution set for | x | = 4.
